Our History
YoungDementia UK Homes was set up in 2009 by the former charity YoungDementia UK (YDUK) to take on the role of developing supportive accommodation for people with young onset dementia when they can no longer live safely at home. YDUK initiated the venture following a donation of £500,000 from the Bray D’Oyly Housing Association.
YDUK merged with Dementia UK in 2020 and YoungDementia UK Homes continues to forge ahead with its pioneering plans to develop the beacon supported living facility for people with young dementia as an independent registered charity.
